Overview
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was ousted in April 2023 amid a $12 million lawsuit settlement with former producer Abby Grossberg, who alleged his show operated as a hostile workplace defined by bigotry, misogyny and bullying.
Description
In March 2023, Abby Grossberg, the former chief booker for Tucker Carlson Tonight, sued Fox News and Carlson personally, alleging a hostile work environment featuring rampant sexism, antisemitism, and unequal pay. Grossberg cited images of Nancy Pelosi in a plunging swimsuit on office walls and relentless gibes about her Jewish faith. Fox News paid $12 million to settle her lawsuit in June 2023. The suit is widely credited as a trigger for Carlson’s ouster from Fox in April 2023, which came one week after Fox’s separate $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over defamation.
In December 2023, Carlson’s longtime top producer Justin Wells was also named in a sexual-assault lawsuit by a former Fox News employee, Andrew Delancey, alleging a 2008 incident.
