In 1996, Rambler pleaded guilty to felony extortion after soliciting sexually explicit photos by placing an advertisement in a swingers magazine, then blackmailing respondents by threatening to publicly expose them unless they paid him $50. He was sentenced to 2 years probation and fined $550. Additionally, Rambler was accused of using his position to solicit explicit photos from a swingers’ group and extorting money from them. York County District Attorney Stanley Rebert has been attempting to remove Rambler from his political positions due to concerns about his criminal history.
