Corey Botelho

Overview

Corey James Botelho, a former Armstrong County, Pennsylvania sheriff’s deputy, soccer coach, and firearms/tactical business owner who publicly promoted anti-government and anti-vaccine views, was convicted in April 2025 of multiple felony child-rape charges and sentenced to 30–60 years in state prison. The court declared him a sexually violent predator subject to lifetime sex-offender registration.

Description

A Pennsylvania State Police investigation launched in December 2023 documented a pattern of sexual assaults against a minor relative that spanned approximately seven years, occurring between when the victim was 8 and 15 years old. A jury convicted Botelho on all counts after a day-and-a-half trial, including rape of a child, multiple counts of rape by forcible compulsion, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and aggravated indecent assault of a child — all first-degree felonies. In March 2026, Judge McClister sentenced him to a minimum of 30 years and a maximum of 60 years in state prison, plus lifetime sex-offender registration as a sexually violent predator.
