Marvin Leroy Mosley

Overview

Marvin Leroy Mosley, former pastor of God’s Missionary Church (an extreme-right evangelical denomination) in Lehighton and Penns Creek, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in March 2024 to 6 to 23 months in prison plus five years probation for the indecent sexual assault of three sisters over a 15-year period. He is on the Pennsylvania sex-offender registry for life.

Description

After becoming pastor of God’s Missionary Church in Penns Creek in 2003, Mosley and his wife were hosted by a local family because the church had no parsonage. Over the next 15 years, Mosley sexually assaulted the family’s three granddaughters, beginning with the eldest when she was seven and continuing through her younger sisters. A warrant was issued for Mosley’s arrest on June 20, 2023 on charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13, indecent assault of a person less than 16, and corruption of minors. He was sentenced to 6–23 months plus 5 years of intensive probation and lifetime sex-offender registration. The Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Assessment Board declined to classify him as a ‘sexually violent predator.’
