Overview

Minnesota Republican state Representative Jim Rostberg, who served in the Minnesota House from 1995, was charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct in 2000 for fondling a 13-year-old girl. He agreed not to seek re-election as part of the resolution.

Description

Rostberg was arrested and charged with fondling the breast of a 13-year-old girl, with a complaint alleging he had sexually touched the minor ‘numerous times over several years,’ beginning when she was 14. He admitted to the conduct in juvenile court and agreed not to run for re-election in exchange for a resolution of the charges. Rostberg had served as vice-chair of the Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Committee.
