Former Flower Mound, Texas Town Council member Jim Pierson was convicted in July 2023 on one first-degree felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and four counts of indecency with a child. He was sentenced to life in prison plus concurrent 20- and 10-year sentences.
Description
Pierson served on the Flower Mound Town Council from May 2019 until he abruptly resigned by email on May 12, 2021. He was arrested weeks later on felony warrants alleging sexual abuse of his granddaughter when she was between the ages of 8 and 11. A Denton County jury convicted him on all charges in July 2023, with the life sentence stemming from the continuous-sexual-abuse conviction and additional concurrent sentences on the indecency counts.
