Description

George Roche III was president of conservative Hillsdale College in Michigan from 1971 to 1999. In October 1999, Roche resigned after allegations surfaced of a 19-year sexual affair with his daughter-in-law, Lissa Jackson Roche. The scandal erupted when Lissa publicly disclosed the alleged affair. Hours after making the disclosure, Lissa was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the college arboretum. Her death was ruled a suicide, though no suicide note was found. Roche’s version claims he never confirmed the affair occurred.
