Joseph M. McDade was an 18-term Republican U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district, serving from 1963 to 1998. He was acquitted in 1996 on federal bribery charges. Joseph M. McDade was an 18-term Republican U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district, serving from 1963 to 1998. He was acquitted in 1996 on federal bribery charges. In January 2007, after his retirement from Congress, McDade was accused by at least three women of indecent exposure at a beach resort in Sanibel, Florida. According to the allegations, McDade masturbated in front of female guests on the beach and by the pool. One witness stated she saw McDade masturbating 10-15 feet away from her, another claimed he followed his wife while masturbating, and a third reported he watched her leave her beach chair while masturbating. McDade was charged with first degree misdemeanor indecent exposure.
